Lead-Free Terminations

Standard terminations of code "V" (Ni/Sn) and non-magnetic code “U” (Cu/Sn) of our SMT components consist of 100% Matte Tin plating. Components with these terminations are capable of a 260°C maximum reflow temperature for a duration of 5 seconds and compatible with most common lead-free solder processes. Tin Whisker test results are published in the Johanson Technical Note: Tin Whisker Testing

*Sn-Pb Terminations

In response to specific industry and customer requests, Johanson Technology produces a limited amount of product featuring Tin-Lead (Sn-Pb) Terminations, code “T” (Ni/Sn/Pb) and non-magnetic code “C” (Cu/Sn/Pb)”). These products are non-RoHS compliant due to the Pb constituent in the termination as required in certain specialty applications, e.g., Military & Space.

Conflict Minerals Reporting

In response to the worldwide determination to limit funding of human rights violations and environmental degradation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Johanson Technology (JTI) ensures that our products do not contain the “conflict minerals” of tungsten, tantalum, tin, and gold supplied by the DRC and their neighboring countries. JTI has verified through due diligence in standards, systems, and procedures that our suppliers’ smelters and refiners produce Conflict Free Minerals. In addition to requiring that our suppliers comply with applicable laws, we expect that they source materials from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers and be DRC Conflict-Free.
