Thin Film Operator
Essential Functions

  • Releasing parts from wax
  • Operate the Sorting machine
  • Electrical testing of parts for capacitance, dissipation factor, and internal resistance.
  • Plating and etching of substrates may be done using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • 50% Visual inspection including inspection of parts one by one under a microscope to remove defective parts that do not meet specified criteria.
  • Packing product using microscope and tweezers.
  • The work area must be keep clean at all times.
  • Cross training for other jobs is required so that employees can occasionally fill-in at other departments when required.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Has full responsibility for interpretive & applying general departmental policy & for establishing procedures.
  • Must be self-starter and able to work without constant supervision.
  • Ability to receive frequent verbal instruction and inspect work or materials produced.
  • Employee will receive training and daily setting of priorities and performance feedback on a regular basis from the shift lead operator or Manufacturing Supervisor.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing/ production environment. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.

The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Standing up to 100% of shift.
  • Twisting of neck and waist on a majority of shift basis
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, stoop, and bend.
  • Occasional required to lift, push, pull, and/or move - up to 30 lbs.
  • Must understand and follow a set of clear oral and/or written procedures without deviation.
  • Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
  • Performs simple tasks that vary little form day to day.
  • Implements others’ decisions/procedures with little judgement required.
  • Must relay simple information orally.
  • Interact with co-workers to complete tasks.
Position Type/Expected hours of work
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Forty or more (40+) hours within a workweek.
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED, the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Basic math skills and basic computer literacy is required.
